Apparently those in the Bush Administration that are in charge of regulating childrens toys, took paid trips from those companies it is supposed to be regulating. Maybe that is why we have all that lead in our children's toys... Oh, and apparently they don't need a budget increase.

In response to the news, House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel nailed it: “Now we know why Nancy Nord opposes efforts to give the Consumer Product Safety Commission more resources: Who needs more resources when the industries you regulate will pay your expenses for you? After taking dozens of trips on the industry dime, it is now time for Mrs. Nord to take a permanent vacation from her post.” (Thanks C&L)

Update (11/7/07) - It looks like children are now falling into comas as a result of Chinese toys. I hope those government officials enjoyed their golf trips and vacations. It just disgusts me.

This is three weeks old, but I didn't hear it anywhere but on Olberman. Bush was spying BEFORE 9/11!!! I guess I misunderstood when he said the government has to spy because of 9/11. My Bad. More Here.

George HW Bush apparently thinks torture is wrong. He should tell his kid. Watch the Video for yourself. Here is a quote between GHW Bush and Chris Wallace of NOT FOX News.

Wallace: “The President remembered the courage and humanity of American soldiers and he grew emotional.”

Bush: “My favorite picture is a picture of American soldiers surrounding a guy whose been in a foxhole, Iraqi soldier, and the American guy says, we’re not going to harm you, we’re American soldiers.” (fights back tears)

Bush: “…See, that side of the war never got — the fact that we treated those people with respect in spite of the fact they were the enemy, it’s really good.

And to end this post, a touching story that got no press from the national news. It's a 10 minute video, but I'm a sucker for a 94 year old who is still an idealist.
